This Terms of Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is made effective upon the date of use of our services by and between The Equal Justice Project, a nonprofit organization with an A+ Better Business Bureau rating (“Service Provider”), and the Client (“Client”).
a. Subscription Fee: The Client agrees to pay a monthly subscription fee of $65. This fee grants access to a range of services offered by the Service Provider, including but not limited to investigative reports, record requests, and advocacy letters.
b. Service Selection: The Client may select any service the Service Provider offers. The cost of these services will be applied against the Client’s membership subscription balance.
c. Subscription Maintenance: The Client is required to maintain an active subscription until all selected services are fully paid for. Alternatively, the Client may opt to pay for services as they are provided.
d. Payment Towards Services: A member can choose a service and pay it off through their monthly subscription payments.
a. Monthly Consultation: Members are entitled to one hour of consultation per month with a licensed private investigator as part of their $65 monthly membership.
b. Notification of Additional Charges: The Service Provider agrees to notify the Client before any charges outside the hourly monthly meeting. Clients are required to schedule their consultation with the investigator.
c. Service Rates: All services are billed at $65 per hour. Written reports are billed at $750 each. Letters are billed for three hours at $65 per hour. Notarized letters are billed at $65 for one hour plus a $25 notary fee.
a. Expert Witness Reports and Testimony: If the Service Provider writes an expert witness report, testifies in court, or provides other substantial support for a civil case, the Client will not be charged if no settlement is reached in civil court, or if the Client loses their civil claim.
b. Payment on Settlement: Clients who receive damage settlements and have received pro bono support will be required to pay any fees related to the Service Provider’s assistance in moving the Client’s case forward or investigating the Client’s matter.
c. Notification of Fees: Clients will be notified of any such fees in advance of any agreement related to the abovementioned services.
a. Better Business Bureau Rating: The Service Provider maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
b. Complaint Submission: Clients who wish to report complaints about the services must agree to submit their objections to the Better Business Bureau for resolution.
a. Activation of Membership: This Agreement also serves as the initial form for new clients to activate their membership. Activation requires the Client to make the initial payment of the subscription fee.
a. Service Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire Agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter of this Agreement.
b. Amendments: This Agreement may be amended or modified only by a written agreement signed by both parties.
c. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed following the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service Provider is located.
d. Termination: Either party may terminate this Agreement with written notice. In the event of termination, the Client is responsible for payment of all services rendered up to termination.
